About VVU

Welcome to Valley View University (VVU), the premier private University, and the first to receive Presidential Charter. We are unique because we offer holistic education that prepares a person to render meritorious services to God and humanity.

VVU subscribes to a philosophy of education that is all-embracing; the harmonious development of the physical, mental and moral/spiritual faculties of a person. We are of the strong view that academic excellence without moral/spiritual excellence is tantamount to parochial training that does not position a person to be of service to God and humanity. It is for such reasons that we emphasize moral/spiritual development as much as we uplift academic excellence.

In academic development, our ultimate is to make VVU a centre of excellence in teaching and research in science and technology, without sidelining the humanities and social sciences. We uphold the persuasion that science and technology is the bedrock of socio–economic development, so is to be given priority attention in our strategic planning process.

Currently, the programmes we run are Business Administration, Theology/Religion, Computer Science, Education, Information Technology, Nursing, Development Studies, Biomedical Equipment Technology interspersed with general courses including English, Mathematics, Statistics and Communication Studies that facilitate uptake of the core courses. Within the foreseeable future we hope to bring on board the Basic Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Mathematical Sciences, i.e. Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science. When the foundations of the Basic Sciences and Humanities have been laid, Medicine, Law, Architecture Engineering and other applied programmes shall follow.

We are of the opinion that universities exist to train personnel for the job market; hence we hold the strong position that our University must train students in collaboration with industry. An Industrial and Professional Relations Office is being set up to liaise with industry and professional organisations in the disciplines we offer. The Office shall, among other functions, seek industrial attachments for Level 300 students, strengthen the affiliation of staff with other professional bodies to enhance their skills, source for funds for research, etc.

Through such linkage and industrial training, our graduates are able to secure jobs after graduation. It is for such goals that we recommend VVU to be your first choice in considering institutions for your training and for establishing industrial links with. You will never regret in making VVU your priority choice.

God Bless You!
