A Generous Donation of Books to Valley View University Library

On Tuesday, 21 November 2023, Valley View University was honored to welcome a three-member delegation led by the President of the Ga-Dangme Language and Culture Restoration Initiative, Mr. Alex Nii Sowah Kumah and two others, Mr. Nai and Pastor Isaac Dowuona.

Their purpose was to make a generous donation to the University Library that promised to be a significant addition to the institution’s academic resources. In a touching display of kindness, the delegation donated a collection of books to the University Library.

Led by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. E. B. Amponsah, the University warmly received the visitors, expressing gratitude for their thoughtful contribution. Prof. Amponsah, visibly appreciative of the gesture, assured the donors that the University would ensure the books were utilised to serve their intended purpose - fostering knowledge and academic growth among the student body, faculty and staff. He added that “the University acknowledges and deeply appreciates this significant donation. It is a testament to the enduring commitment of our community to the pursuit of knowledge and the preservation of our cultural heritage,” Prof. Amponsah remarked.

The delegation, in response, expressed their joy in associating with Valley View University. They conveyed their heartfelt appreciation for the warm reception and pledged to maintain a strong and enduring relationship with the institution.

Among the dignitaries present during this momentous occasion were the University’s Registrar, Mr. Albert K. Imbrah, the Head of General Administration, Mr Alex Appiah-Asare, and the Acting Director of the University Relations Directorate, Mrs. Harriet A. N. Asare. Their presence underscored the significance of this substantial donation to the University’s academic community.

As the books found their new home in the University Library, they brought the promise of expanded knowledge and cultural enrichment. Valley View University extends its deepest gratitude to the donors for this invaluable contribution, hoping that the attitude of generosity and a love for learning continues to thrive within the University’s revered walls and achieve greater heights in the “Spirit of the Pioneers.”
