Valley View University holds meeting with the Geoscience Research Institute (GRI) to establish a ressource centre at VVU

A meeting was held on April 24, 2019, at the Vice Chancellor’s Office to discuss the proposal for the establishment of a Resource Centre of the Geoscience Research Institute (GRI) at Valley View University, Oyibi Campus.

 

A meeting was held on April 24, 2019, at the Vice Chancellor’s Office to discuss the proposal for the establishment of a Resource Centre of the Geoscience Research Institute (GRI) at Valley View University, Oyibi Campus. Present at the meeting were some Principal Officers of the University and a representative of the Geoscience Research Institute, West African Central Division (WAD), Oluwole A. Oyedeji, Ph.D., Geology.

Dr. O. A. Oyedeji briefed the house on the background of the GRI and disclosed the benefits of the establishment of the center at Valley View University. According to Dr. Oyedeji, if the center is established, the University is likely to benefit from grants to support publications in the field of Geoscience and students from other Universities will also have the opportunity to visit the center to acquire more knowledge in Geoscience.

In response, the leadership of VVU welcomed the proposal for the establishment of such a facility on the University campus.
