2019 Student Leadership Seminar

The 2019/2020 academic year has begun with the annual Student Leadership Seminar, which is attended by all student leaders from the Student Representative Council (SRC), to departmental leaders and hall dean assistants.

It serves as some sort of orientation for the incoming student leaders as to what is expected of them and what they should expect during their tenure. The theme for this year's leadership seminar is, "Effective Leadership that responds to the Post Postmodern Student".

The seminar began on 2nd September 2019 and will be ongoing till 6th September 2019. The opening topic, "The True meaning of leadership" was facilitated by Dr. Josiah Andoh (Dean of Students & Societies, Regent University) and he discussed into detail the essence of true leadership — influence, sacrifice, and service.

During the afternoon session, Pr. Dr.  Emmanuel Harrison Takyi (Dean of Students, Valley View University) talked about the certain key features — the nature of man and God's purpose for creating him, the change in man's condition through the introduction of sin and God's plan for still fulfilling his purpose— in our education speaking on the topic, "Adventist Philosophy of Education".

The session ended with a prayer from the SRC Chaplain, Mr. Frank Adusei Poku.

Topics for today's sessions are, "Excellence & Integrity: Indispensable Marks of Leadership" in the morning and, "Effective Leadership" in the afternoon. All student leaders who wish to participate are warmly welcome, as the series promises to be enlightening for various upcoming leaders.
