2021 Matriculation Ceremony Held

Valley View University, Ghana’s Premier Private University has held a matriculation ceremony to formally admit 2,815 students for the 2020/2021 academic year.

The matriculants who are currently studying on all the three campuses of the University comprised 1,641 males representing 58.2 percent of the total number and 1,174 females also representing 41.8% of the new students. Majority of these students were undergraduates (92%). The rest of the matriculants were graduate students.

 This year’s event was held via the University’s virtual platforms due to the covid-19 pandemic. The ceremony was streamed on the University’s website, on its Facebook page and on the University’s YouTube channel.

In a brief welcome address, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Peter Agyekum-Boateng extended the University’s warmest felicitations to the new students and assured them that they made the right decision in choosing to study at Valley View University.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor further emphasized the University administration’s resolve to make their stay as memorable as it is valuable. To the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Valley View University’s unique positioning as the preferred Christian institution of higher learning in Ghana; its unique accreditation status; the qualification and dedication of its staff and faculty; the institution’s quest to strive for excellence, integrity and service; the serene learning environment; the sense of communality among others are attributes that make it a conducive study destination for building a successful career.

 Prof. Agyekum-Boateng urged the matriculants to be focused on the reasons that brought them to Valley View University and imbibe what he termed as “the eternity driven experience”.

Delivering the matriculation address on behalf of the Chair of Council, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Daniel Kwame Bediako, applauded the matriculants for making the decision to study at Valley View University and assured them of policies instituted to make their studies and other extra-curricular activities enjoyable.

 The Vice Chancellor however pointed out that the responsibility of diligent study, the right application of knowledge, the creation of a visons for their lives, compliance with rules and regulations of the University rested to a large extent in their bosoms.

Prof. Bediako proposed to the matriculants that the combination of hard work and prayers would be the critical catalysts that will enable them stay on course and achieve their study goals; irrespective of the challenges they would encounter at the University.

The Vice-Chancellor then proceeded to admit the new students into the university community, after the students had taken the matriculation oath and signed it electronically.
