VVU Alumnus Adjudged Best Teacher in Assin South District

Mr. Shadrack Dampson, an alumnus of Valley View University (VVU) has recently been adjudged the Best Teacher in the Junior High School (JHS) category in the 2020 Assin South District Teachers´ Awards ceremony.

The purpose of the awards ceremony was to identify and reward hardworking Basic School teachers in the Assin South District.

A number of achievements propelled Mr. Dampson to winning the coveted award. These achievements include the establishment of a community-based Information Communication Technology (ICT) Centre at Darmmang and the establishment of another ICT Centre at Adankwaman SHS.

Over a few years,  Mr. Dampson has also helped to tremendously improve the performance of the pupils in Ahenkro Methodist Basic School (AMBS) in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the area of ICT. From a success rate of 56 per cent, in the 2014/2015 examinations, the school now has been scoring 100 percent in the subject in the past three academic years.

Mr. Dampson is of the firm conviction that VVU contributed enormously to the achievement of this feat. “I can say without hesitation that VVU contributed to this award by imbibing in me the spirit of discipline, hard work and good work ethics and above all upgrading me as a professional teacher. I’m proud of VVU as an institution of higher learning,” Dampson said

Mr. Dampson is especially grateful to all his lecturers at the Valley View University, Oyibi Campus, especially those in the Computer Science, Information Technology and Education Departments for the various roles they played in his academic formation.
