Kumasi Campus holds Customer Care Workshop for Staff

The Kumasi Campus of Valley View University has organized a Customer Care workshop for its staff. The purpose of the workshop was to rekindle the spirit of good customer care in the staff in order to improve student experience on campus to make it a more delightful one.

The workshop was facilitated by Mrs Adwoa Afrakoma Baah Obeng, the Senior Manager for Branch Network Services for MTN in the Northern Sector of Ghana. Mrs Baah Obeng is a customer experience practitioner with 19 years of experience in sales and customer service.

Mrs Baah Obeng noted that customer service revolved around three pillars which are people, processes and practices. Among other things, she called for regular training for personnel to  ensure that good customer care was always fresh on their minds. She also called for the institution of a customer service week and employee of the month policy in the University.

Reacting to the presentation, the Rector for the Kumasi campus, Dr Winfred Larkotey reiterated the need to treat stakeholders, especially, students with care. He promised management´s support in promoting reforms in engagements with stakeholders. The Rector also said that the workshop would not be a one-time event but rather, it will be periodic to ensure that staff continuously appreciate the need to  delight students.

The registrar of the Kumasi campus, Dr Matilda Obeng Kyere, thanked the facilitator for the insightful and practice-based presentation. She also thanked the staff for attending the workshop in their numbers.

Present at the workshop were all staff of Kumasi together with management of the Campus.
