Prior to the new appointment, Prof Bediako had served the first term as Vice-Chancellor and had begun a second five-year term.

In his farewell address, Prof Bediako expressed gratitude to God for His leading in the past and also for His new direction.´´Whatever God allows is perfect’’, he said.

Prof Bediako added that it had been a wonderful privilege for him and his family to serve. He thanked the University Council, Executive Council, faculty, and staff of the University for the opportunity given him.

Prof Bediako admitted that the past few years had not been easy and he called on those he might have offended in the course of his work to pardon him.

The outgoing VC outlined a number of achievements in the course of his tenure as Vice-Chancellor. These included sponsoring about 75 PhDs, infrastructural development on all campuses, fundraising, and expansions in the University Ventures.

Prof Bediako encouraged his successor to remain focused on the mission of leading the institution and not be distracted in any way. He also asked him to invest in technology to ensure the development of the institution. Prof Bediako finally called on the university community to accord the Acting VC the needed support.

Accepting the new position, Prof Peter Agyekum Boateng called on all for support to take Valley View to higher heights. ‘We are willing and ready to team up with you...... together we can achieve great things,’ Prof Agyekum-Boateng said.

The newly inducted Acting Vice-Chancellor joined Valley View University in 2006 as a lecturer.
