Valley View University on Sunday, October 9, 2022 held a workshop for the training of a section of its Registry staff from across the three campuses of the University on Pre-Contract Procurement Procedures. In respect of the awarding of works contracts.
In his welcome address, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. William Koomson stated that, as a Chartered Private University that is always on the radar of the relevant denominational and national regulatory authorities, the University needs to be professional in all its endeavours, hence the need to train staff in various relevant areas of the University’s operations. He urged participants to take the training seriously in order to apply the knowledge acquired to enhance the work in the University.
The facilitator for the workshop, Engr. Surv. Prof. Sarfo Mensah, has been a Consultant/Trainer/Procurement Auditor for the Ghana Public Procurement Authority since 2009.
With his rich background, Prof Sarfo Mensah took participants through the standard procurement process and the legal framework that governs it. He walked the house through the following topics among others:

By the end of the session, most participants understood, among other things, the need to ensure fair, transparent and non-discriminatory procurement processes in the operations of the University.
The Registrar, Mr. Albert K. Imbrah thanked the facilitator for his time and the wealth of knowledge shared, assuring him that the University was going to make use of it to enhance its operations. He further expressed gratitude to the team of workers who availed themselves for the training and charged them to put into practice all they had learnt from the workshop.
