Valley View University (VVU) has successfully held its maiden Stakeholders Conference from March 17 to 18, 2025. The two-day event, held at the university’s main campus in Oyibi, was themed “Innovative Strategies for Revitalization of Valley View University – Balancing Core Values with Economic Uncertainty.”
The purpose of the conference was to explore pragmatic solutions aimed at revitalizing VVU while staying true to its core values of Excellence, Integrity, and Service. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on shaping a sustainable future for the institution amidst economic challenges.
The conference attracted a broad range of attendees, including representatives from various Seventh-day Adventist Church Unions and Conferences, external stakeholders, students, staff, faculty, and delegates from VVU’s Kumasi and Techiman campuses.
Day one of the conference commenced with a devotional session led by Pastor Selom Sesosu, Executive Secretary of the West-Central Africa Division (WAD). The Chancellor of Valley View University, Pastor Professor Robert Osei-Bonsu, delivered the keynote address. He highlighted the pressing challenges facing VVU but also pointed to unique opportunities for growth and revival. He stressed the importance of unity and collaboration among stakeholders in achieving the university's strategic goals.
Vice Chancellor, Professor William Koomson, also addressed the gathering, outlining the purpose and expected outcomes of the conference. He emphasized the need to address concerns raised by students, faculty, and staff, as part of the university’s revitalization efforts. The day concluded with breakout sessions where eight specialized committees engaged in strategic discussions and planning.
The second day began with a devotion led by the WAD Education Director, followed by reports from the various committee secretaries. Each committee presented recommendations designed to restore and strengthen the university’s operations and academic standing.
The conference concluded with closing remarks from the Chancellor, who assured participants that the university leadership is committed to implementing the recommendations. He emphasized the collective responsibility to work towards a renewed vision for Valley View University, with clear timelines for action, implementation, and accountability.
The Stakeholders Conference marked a significant step in VVU’s efforts to navigate economic uncertainties while remaining steadfast in its mission of providing quality, values-based education.
