Valley View University, in collaboration with the Centre for Academic Research and Engaged Scholarship (CARES), has re-launched The Integrator journal website in a ceremony held on May 13, 2025, at the Columbia Conference Hall. The event, themed “Innovation for Sustainable Development: Addressing Global Challenges through Multidisciplinary Research,” brought together faculty, staff, and key university leaders to celebrate the advancement of research and academic publishing at the university.
The program began with an overview of the website by the Acting Director for Centre Academic Research and Engaged Scholarship Dr. Jeanette Owusu, who described the platform as a gateway to academic excellence and innovation. She emphasized the importance of leveraging the site to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and promote knowledge sharing.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Mr. Winfred O. Larkotey delivered a keynote address, highlighting The Integrator as a vital platform for generating ideas, supporting impactful research, and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He applauded CARES for their hard work and encouraged faculty and staff to take full advantage of the opportunity to publish and engage. He echoed the journal's slogan: “Publish, Share, Engage, and Inspire.”
Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ninon P. Amertil also shared her remarks, expressing confidence in the website’s potential to strengthen the university’s research culture and academic impact.
Chief Editor of The Integrator Dr. Duah Mensah outlined the journal’s core objectives, which include facilitating knowledge exchange across disciplines, supporting research in diverse academic areas, and encouraging collaboration to address global challenges. He extended his appreciation to the editorial board for their dedication in preparing the platform for re-launch.
A live demonstration of the website was conducted by Information Technology Systems Director, Mr. Michael Asare, who guided attendees through its features and functionality, ensuring users could confidently explore and submit content.
Dr. Jeanette Owusu, in her final remarks, commended the collaborative efforts that brought the project to life and encouraged faculty and researchers to contribute actively to the journal moving forward. She emphasized the website’s potential to drive innovation and elevate the university’s academic visibility.
The event concluded with a word of prayer from the Dean of Spiritual Life and Service, Pastor Emmanuel Obeng Manu, symbolizing a hopeful and purposeful beginning for the re-launched platform.
