Join us to congratulate an alumnus, Pastor Professor Robert Osei-Bonsu, 51, the newly elected President of the West- Central African Division. He was elected at the General Conference Session underway in St Louis Missouri, USA on June 8, 2022.
Pastor Robert Osei Bonsu, is the second Ghanaian to be elected to that position, after Pastor J.J. Nortey (1986-1995).
Before his latest appointment as the CEO of WAD, Professor Osei-Bonsu, was an Associate Professor of Historical-Theological Studies at the Adventist University of Africa (AUA), Kenya and the Dean of the Theological Seminary and Program Coordinator of the PhD program in Biblical and Theological Studies.
Prof. Osei Bonsu had previously served at the Valley View University (VVU), Accra for 16 years from 2002 to 2018 where he rose to the rank of a Pro-Vice Chancellor. During that period, he served as Vice President of Academic Affairs from 2016 to 2018 and Rector of the Valley View University Techiman Campus from 2014 to 2016.
Prof. Osei Bonsu has also served as the Youth, Chaplaincy, and Communications Director/Church Pastor of Central Ghana Conference, District Pastor in the 1990s at the Central Ghana Conference of SDA Church, Kumasi-Ashanti, Ghana.
His secondary education was at Konadu Yiadom Secondary School, Asamang-Ashanti. He is also an alumni of the Valley View University, Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS), Silang Cavite, Philippines, and Andrews University Berrien Springs, MI, USA.
Ordained into the Gospel Ministry- Seventh-day Adventist Church in Aug 1998, Osei Bonsu is married to Margaret Osei Bonsu with three children.
