The University which is ranked the best-practiced horticulture in West Africa has a serene environment, moral structured schemes, and a welcoming environment for all students locally and internationally.

The freshmen and freshwomen were elegantly dressed with an emblem of happiness and a spark of smile on their faces as they began their tertiary phase. The families, friends, and guardians of these freshmen and freshwomen witnessed this great occasion to commemorate a new journey of their wards.

As part of the University’s culture, the freshmen and freshwomen processed into the Seth Laryea Multi-Purpose Centre, an imposing edifice that can host thousands of people, and the freshmen and freshwomen were followed by the University’s academic staff, and the Vice Chancellor’s party.

The Matriculation officially began with a word of prayer by Pastor (Dr.) Emmanuel Harrison Takyi, the University’s Chaplain.

Dr. Thomas Ocran, Chair of the University’s Council gave a declaration of the institution’s constitution, and he highlighted the University’s mission and vision statements, core values, and ideals.

Prof. Amertil also assured the new students that, the Administration, Faculty, and Staff of VVU were poised to make their education journey smooth and memorable.

Following Prof. Amertil’s address was a rendition by the VVU Choir with a melodious song to soothe the souls of members presence.

The Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University, Professor William Kofi Koomson subsequently addressed the matriculants. He charged the fresh students to adhere to the University’s rules and regulations, and advised them to “allow the University to pass through them”, for them to be refined and prepared for life and the job market.

He added that Adventist institutions were unique from every other institution due to their moral values and standards, and therefore advised the students to have regular morning devotions in their hostels and attend all other official gatherings. Furthermore, the VC highlighted the pause-to-pray culture of the University at 12:15 pm, each day. Additionally, the VC indicated that the Inter-Disciplinary Forum (IDF) system will be conducted twice every semester; and this exercise will be at the beginning and end of each semester. He added that the Theology Students will be responsible for conducting Chapel services every Wednesday of each semester.

Again, the Vice-Chancellor urged the students with financial difficulties to apply for work-study programmes to help them pay their tuition fees. To end his address, the VC cautioned the students about lateness, and stated that the institution does not tolerate lateness to lectures or social gatherings. Consequently, the Vice-Chancellor welcomed the matriculants as students of Valley View University.
