Valley View University Anthem

 

The 29th graduation ceremony was unique in that the University graduated a total of 1, 324 comprising 569 females and 755 males from the three campuses. Among the graduates, 84 achieved first-class honours, 393 received second-class upper, 674 attained second-class lower, and 13 obtained third-class degrees. Also, the University graduated its first Doctorate in the person of Dr. (Mrs.) Faustina Oduro Twum with a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration (Management). In addition, the University was privileged to host the Zambian President as the special guest of honour.

 

President Hakainde Hichilema delivered a memorable speech emphasising the importance of education for success. He praised the graduates’ achievements and stressed that education was a lifelong asset that could not be taken away like material possessions. The President encouraged the graduates to combine their acquired skills with boldness, love, and focus to excel in their future endeavours.

 

Reflecting on his own experiences, President Hichilema highlighted the significance of being a visionary and logical thinker. He urged all Africans to adopt this mindset, appreciating the privilege of education many others could not access.

 

The President also shared his journey, recounting how he overcame numerous challenges, including imprisonment, to become the President of Zambia. He emphasised the importance of remaining humble and respecting authority, particularly parents and those who facilitated their education.

 

President Hichilema concluded his address by commending Valley View University for its achievement. He ended his speech intending to encourage Zambian students to consider VVU for their tertiary education.

The graduation ceremony was filled with joy and a sense of duty, reminding the graduates of their obligations as they embarked on their respective paths.
