Inauguration of School Entrepreneurship Initiative Club at VVU

Student Entrepreneurship Initiative (SEI) is a government policy aimed at building an entrepreneurial mind-set among students at the Senior High and Tertiary levels.

The initiative is expected to train and simulate students to become successful entrepreneurs to help the Ghana beyond aid agenda. This was revealed by Mrs. Irene Ayebea Ofosu-Safori, the Administrator/Gender Representative for Ministry of Business Development at the inauguration of the club and launch of campus business pitch held at the Seth Laryea Multi-Purpose centre on Wednesday 30th October, 2019.

Mrs. Ofosu-Safori indicated that the competition is in two phases - the external and the internal. She explained that the first phase is the pitching and competition, which will see one business idea as the winner. She stated, that all individuals with feasible, innovative and scalable business ideas are welcomed. According to her, the ministry is ready to fund the winning business set up.

Mrs Ofosu-Safori urged the students to prepare for the inter-university competition which will be coming up soon.

Valley View University as part of its entrepreneurship program, will help in the formation of the students and also provide support to members to generate business ideas and develop a feasible business plan.

In attendance at the inauguration ceremony were some members of faculty and staff of Valley View University.
