An Educational Trip to Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX) on November 26, 2019

Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX)  is a regulated market that connects sellers and buyers to trade listed commodities like maize (corn), sorghum (white and red), beans and millet (white and red).

The Exchange seeks to support the society with job creation and agricultural economic transformation. Their core intent is to minimize post-harvest losses of peasant and commercial farmers.

On Tuesday, 26th November 2019, the Valley View University delegated some students and a Faculty member from the School of Business to familiarize themselves with the operations of Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX).

Upon arrival at 9:30 am, delegates were ushered into the conference hall and were warmly welcomed by Mr. Albert N. Tagoe, an alumnus of Valley View University and Head of Finance of GCX.  He briefly shared his experience, explaining how he bridged the gap between academia and the Corporate World.

There was merriment and moment of socialization which was graced by Mr. Richard Ankrah, a Member of the Ghana Commodity Exchange who delivered a very welcoming message.

The trip was full of fun, excitement, and education.

A couple of students interviewed, shared their exposure to the corporate industry practices and how to fit in.

Below is some footage from the trip.
