School of Business gets a New Dean

The School of Business (SOB) has held a handing over ceremony, to officially welcome its new Dean, Miss Josephine Peprah-Mensah into office.

This brief but warm event was supervised by the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Agyekum Boateng. In attendance were Heads of Departments, a Programme Coordinator, the Faculty Officer, and Mr. Felix Oppong Asamoah who represented all other SOB faculty.

 

In a brief address, the outgoing Dean of the School, Prof. Emmanuel Bismark Amponsah seized the opportunity to thank the staff and faculty of the School for their cooperation and support during what he termed “the unprecedented short period” he served as the Dean. He also urged the faculty and staff to accord Ms Prepra-Mensah all the necessary cooperation she would need as she steers the affairs of the School to higher heights.

In her acceptance speech, the new Dean of the School, Miss Pepra-Mensah expressed her gratitude to the University Administration for the appointment and promised to give off her best to justify the confidence reposed in her; God being her helper.

 

Miss Pepra-Mensah is Senior Lecturer in Human Resources Management and Business Management. She holds a Master of Business Administration (Human Resource Management) and a Bachelor of Education (Social Sciences – Accounting/Management) from the University of Cape Coast. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Adventist University of the Philippines.

 

Before her appointment as Dean, Ms Pepra-Mensah had served the University in several capacities. She had  worked as a Student Finance Officer (Oyibi Campus) , Campus Director of Quality Assurance (Techiman), Coordinator of Business Department (Techiman Campus), Assistant Coordinator, School of Graduate Studies ((Techiman Campus), Coordinator School of Graduate Studies ((Techiman Campus),  and most recently, she served as Head of Department of Marketing, Management and Human Resource Management.

 

Miss Pepra-Mensah is a self-motivated individual with keen interest in building a professional career in human resource management, and who through education and work experiences have acquired persuasive techniques that are needed to influence students, parents and customers in making choices. Her research interests are in the areas of human resource training and development, employee relations, management and organizational behavior.

 

Her hobbies are counselling, music, child care, reading and cooking.
