Valley View University Makes Its Mark at the Tertiary Business Sense Challenge (TBSC) 6.0

In a display of ambition and determination, four students from Valley View University’s School of Business—Jonathan Kwaku Abrokwa, Robert Okpoti Mensah, Jeffery Danso, and Peace Atanga—rose to the challenge of representing the university at the 6th edition of the prestigious Tertiary Business Sense Challenge (TBSC). This marked Valley View University's first appearance in the competition, making the team’s journey even more remarkable.

With limited time to prepare (from August 5 to September 3, 2024), the students, guided by dedicated faculty members, achieved a significant milestone by advancing to the semifinals on September 6, 2024, in the South-East Zonal Championship. Out of 16 participating universities, the team proudly secured an impressive 5th place. Their outstanding achievement not only showcased their skills and teamwork but also exemplified the core values Valley View University upholds—service, integrity, and excellence.

Competing against experienced institutions, the Valley View University team stood tall, embodying the School of Business’ motto: “Passion for Excellence and Integrity.” On Friday, September 27, 2024, their journey concluded in the round of 16 at the national level, following a narrow 2-point loss to their opponents. Nonetheless, the team's performance was truly inspiring. As first-time entrants, they demonstrated remarkable perseverance and resilience, proving they can compete with the best.

This accomplishment lays a strong foundation for future teams, who will undoubtedly build on this success. With the unwavering support of the university community, Valley View University’s debut at the TBSC stands as a testament to the strength and potential of its students.

“We are immensely proud of what we’ve achieved,” said Jonathan Kwaku Abrokwa, speaking on behalf of the team. “Although we didn’t bring home the trophy this time, we are confident that future teams will continue our legacy and bring it to Valley View University.”

The university community stands proud, knowing that these trailblazers have made history and paved the way for future success.
