A 3-day orientation session was held from May 1-3, 2023 at Valley View University, Columbia Conference Room at 9:00 a.m. each day.
The purpose of the session was to orient reassigned and newly appointed staff (Supervisors and Senior Staff) of their various roles and responsibilities and how to contribute to the achievement of the University’s mission.
The program was organized by the Training and Development Department and facilitated by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor William K. Koomson, who initiated it.
Participants were segmented into five groups and each group had a leader and a scribe who made presentations on specific themes after each interactive session.
The facilitator highlighted the following:
§ Role of the Supervisor and the Staff
§ The essence of team/group work and team building
§ Achieving efficiency at the workplace
§ The essence of punctuality to work
§ Disciplinary processes and how they affect work.
Participants benefited immensely from the exercise as their skills were sharpened for effective and efficient execution of their functions, going forward.
