Professor. Wiliam Koomson, Vice-Chancellor of Valley View University (VVU), joined fifteen other heads of universities from various countries in Africa to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for their respective institutions with the Sahmyook University (SU) based in Seoul, South Korea.
The MoU was signed during the 2023 International Conference of International Society for Academic Advancement (ICISAA).
As part of the cooperation, Sahmyook University will work with VVU and the other institutions to promote creativity and interdisciplinarity for a duration of five years commencing in August 2023.
The scope of the MoU is to deepen collaboration between SU and the various institutions to promote knowledge and research sharing, and student and faculty exchange programmes. Additionally, the partnership is to facilitate the convergence of curriculum cooperation and resource sharing. The ceremony took place at Sahmyook University in Soul, South Korea on August 10, 2023.
Signing on behalf of SU, Professor Kim Il-mok, President of the University underscored the need for the institutions to identify common interests and harness their strengths for the benefit of their students, faculty, staff, and their respective communities.
Prof. Koomson appreciated the leadership role of Prof. Kim II-mok in growing the SU. He lauded the giant step taken by SU in initiating collaboration with other higher learning institutions to generate knowledge for the betterment of the current and next generations.
